09 April 2020

The branding change brought fresh air to the world of education in Medan City. This change accompanies the changes that have been made first, namely those related to management, structure, study programs to the curriculum.

This was conveyed by the Chairman of STIE Mahkota Tricom Unggul, Prof. Zulkarnain Lubis when confirmed by the media crew via cellular regarding the name change, Wednesday (4/8/2020).

According to him, the name change is in line with the changes that occur in the university, both those concerning a new vision, new enthusiasm and new hopes, where STIE Mahkota Tricom Unggul, abbreviated as MTU, will be more 'passionate' and develop in meeting the educational needs of the community in the future.

Prof. Zul, his nickname added, MTU's overall mainset since September last year has been directed with a new icon, BESTWAY. “It stands for Brilliant, Emphaty, Sprititual, Trustworhty, Wise, Accountable, Yumpie, which is expected to be the hallmark of the branding displayed by Mahkota Tricom Unggul,” he said.

In addition, program changes were also made, be it the addition of study programs, improving facilities and infrastructure, the quality of teaching staff or lecturers, became the main priority in these changes.

“Alhamdulillah, in supporting the realization of the program change, it is fully supported by the Mahkota Tricom Education Foundation by helping to complete educational infrastructure and facilities through the assistance of the Mahkota Group's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR),” said Prof. Zul.

The education fund assistance channeled by Mahkota Group worth IDR 100 million was intended for the completeness of mobiler and computerization in supporting the sophistication of information technology for students.

The presence of sophisticated facilities and infrastructure, said Prof. Zul, will support curriculum changes that are ready and have begun to be implemented this semester, where every student will be able to operate as well as understand and familiarize themselves with digital technology facilities.

Not only that, STIE Mahkota Tricom Unggul students will be given the opportunity to taste the experience of interacting and getting used to living abroad. “The students will be given foreign language education, but currently only English is given which will support them internationally,” he said.

Along with the development of the digitalization era, it also encouraged STIE Mahkota Tricom Unggul to make changes in new student admissions. “We (STIE MTU) have also implemented an online registration system through the http://gg.gg.pendaftaranTRICOM page, making it easier for people to register themselves while knowing various campus information,” said Prof. Zul.

Online registration, he said, is also to anticipate and help prevent the transmission of the Corona or Covid - 19 virus which has recently hit the entire country.
