PT MAHKOTA GROUP TBK SUPPORT THE ACCELERATION OF HANDLING COVID 19

06 April 2020

PT Mahkota Group Tbk (MGRO) realizes that the corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic that occurred in Indonesia is not only the responsibility of the Covid-19 Task Force formed by the government, but also the responsibility of all Indonesian people. Public participation in accelerating the handling of Covid-19 is urgently needed. In order to accelerate the handling of Covid-19 in Indonesia, especially in Medan City, PT Mahkota Group Tbk took part by allocating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds.

“On March 26, 2020 PT Mahkota Group Tbk handed over a donation of IDR 100 million to the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) North Sumatra. On March 30, 2020 and March 31, 2020, PT Mahkota Group Tbk also handed over a donation of IDR 100 million to the Chinese Indonesian Society of North Sumatra (MITSU) at the Foreign Language College (STBA) and was immediately received by the Daily Chairman of MITSU, Juswan Tjoe, said President Director of PT Mahkota Group Tbk, Usli Sarsi.

The donation given by PT Mahkota Group Tbk, said Usli Sarsi, will later be used to buy Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the medical team as the frontline in handling Covid-19. There are still many hospitals that handle Covid-19 lacking PPE. With this assistance, hospitals handling Covid-19 will no longer lack the much-needed PPE. The purchase of PPE is also prioritized from convection businesses that make PPE, such as clothes, masks, glasses from Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) in Indonesia, so that it can help the economy of the community which is now experiencing a decline.

PT Mahkota Group Tbk's participation in accelerating the handling of Covid-19 is not only by providing donations, but also participating in implementing the government's appeal to conduct social distancing where only 30% of employees work in the office, while the rest work from home. This is done so that employees who work in the office are not many and can manage the distance between one another.

Usli Sarsi also said, in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, it must be done in mutual cooperation to be able to relieve our brothers and sisters who are affected by Covid-19, both directly and indirectly. The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted all aspects of people's lives. The faster the handling of Covid-19 the better, so that the economic stretch of the Indonesian people can revive.
