01 April 2021

The Mahkota Tricom Unggul (MTU) Medan College of Economics (STIE) held a graduation ceremony for 42 Business Management graduates class XIII at the Karabia Hotel Grand Ballroom, 7th Floor, Caribbean Hotel, Jalan Timor, Blok J, Medan City, Monday (29/3/2021). The event was attended by STIE MTU Medan officials.

In the graduation ceremony, which was also attended by the Chairperson of the Mahkota Tricom College Foundation (YP), Usli Sarsi, gave a motto to the graduates of STIE MTU Medan, that as a scholar must be sensitive to changing times and think out of the box.

“Be it creative thinking, innovation, and being able to adapt to the times. In fact, they must have high concern for solving problems in this country,” he said.

Usli Sarsi also said, for students who have just graduated, they must continue to learn, both outside of what is studied at STIE MTU Medan. In addition, Usli also hopes that graduates from STIE MTU can open up jobs for the community.

“Whether it's opening up jobs such as entrepreneurship. Because at this time job opportunities are getting narrower, with changes in digitalization. So, now everything can be replaced by machines, and the meaning of artificial intelligence,” he said.

He continued to say, that intelligence alone is not enough for the XIII batch of STIE MTU Business Management graduates. So, a graduate from STIE MTU Medan must also be able to work with a heart and soul of service.

“Whether it is a caring spirit that must be instilled for STIE MTU graduates when working and opening jobs,” he said.

Usli also said that only one person became the best graduate student at the XIII batch of STIE MTU Medan's Business Management undergraduate graduation. Her name is Sai Vinodhini, who is a Management undergraduate student.

Meanwhile, Sai Vinodhini, who is familiarly called Vino, was very excited when he was named the best graduate at the undergraduate graduation of Business Management class XIII STIE MTU Medan in 2021. Vino also admitted that the announcement of the best graduate was also sudden.

“I am happy with this achievement, but I also wondered to my lecturers, why am I the best graduate? So, my lecturers said, the best graduate is not from the cumlaude grade. But they see it from the ethics, and attendance at lectures,” he said.

He also shared his future plans, he wants to work first for one to two years. Then, he will continue his Masters education. He also said that there were interesting and memorable things for him while undergoing lectures at STIE MTU Medan, namely group work.

“So group work is working together with college friends, when the lecturer gives course assignments. It was very memorable for me. Whether it's solving problems and papers and discussing with college friends,” she said.

Furthermore, the Chairperson of STIE MTU Medan, Prof. Ir. H. Zulkarnain Lubis, M.S., Ph.D, said, for students who had just graduated at STIE MTU Medan, to do their best in the midst of society according to the knowledge provided by the campus.

“So the campus is not just about learning science, not just learning actuality, but most importantly changing the mindset. So that they can work in any line and any job,” he said.

Because according to him, Bachelor of Economics is not necessarily an expert in the economy. However, it can adapt to environments outside of economics and others.
