In order to improve knowledge insights in the field of shipping logistics management and entrepreneurship, students of Mahkota Tricom Unggul University (MTU) made a study visit to PT Tanimas Maritim Indonesia in Belawan, Saturday (5/11).

MTU University Rector, Dr Dompak Pasaribu SE, MSi, CPA, CACP, explained that the study visit was attended by students from the Management, Digital Business, Agribusiness, Information Systems and Information Engineering study programs. Through study visits, students not only know shipping logistics management and entrepreneurship, but also the CPO shipping process.

Chairperson of the MTU University Digital Business Study Program Eka Martyna T Tampubolon SE MM who accompanied the student study visit admitted that from the explanation presented, there was a lot of knowledge that students could receive, such as how CPO is loaded onto ships. Keeping the CPO in good condition during the trip to the destination until it is unloaded and put into the tank car to be taken to the processing plant.

In addition, Eka added, students also learned about the equipment on board and received an explanation of the duties of each crew member. Not only that, the students also learned about the business aspect. It is hoped that this study visit can open the students' horizons to find business opportunities that can be developed.

“Students not only learn on campus in theory, but also see firsthand the process of a job so that students' insights can be more developed and after graduation are better prepared to enter the job market or create new jobs. Every job has new job opportunities,” he said.

Meanwhile, from Tanimas, Amin said he was happy with the presence of students who made a study visit. It is hoped that the study visit can broaden the students' horizons.
