MTU UNIVERSITY CONDUCTS GRADUATION PROCESSION : STUDENTS MUST HAVE ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT
08 September 2022
Mahkota Tricom Unggul University (MTU) held a graduation procession for Bachelor and Associate Expert graduates with S1 Management and D3 Accounting study programs in the 2021/2022 academic year period, Saturday (3/9/2022).
Chairman of the Higher Education Service Institution Region I (LLDIKTI I) Prof. Dr. Ibnu Hajar in his speech said there were three criteria for students after graduating from college. First, students who have worked while still in college. After graduating, it is no longer difficult for them to find a job because they have been there before. With the lectures of those who have worked after graduation can be used to advance in rank or get the opportunity for promotion. Unfortunately those who have worked while still in college are only about 10 percent.
Secondly, people who have graduated try to open a business, even though they fail, they keep trying until they succeed. Ibnu said that people like this are trending, especially in big cities like Medan.
Just look at it now, said Ibnu, by only capitalizing on digital devices, namely smartphones, you can open a business. Unfortunately, there are still not many people like this, around 20 percent.
The third is people who have graduated from college only looking for work in various agencies and companies. There are 70 percent of these people.
Ibnu reminded that currently the grade point average is no longer a guarantee to get a job, the place of study no longer guarantees success, but success is determined by the competence possessed.
Digital technology creates no more boundaries for people to interact with each other. Utilizing technology can create new opportunities in business.
The development of digital technology makes language mastery an important thing for a person to have. Everyone can interact with people in different parts of the world.
The Rector of MTU University, Dr. Dompak Pasaribu, SE, M.Si, CPA, CACP in his remarks said that the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 has changed a lot. The use of digital technology is a must. Those who do not follow the use of digital technology are clearly left behind. Many businesses that do not follow the growth of technology are forced out of business, including the world of education.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, education is not allowed to do face-to-face, while the education process must be carried out, so it is done online. But not a few are experiencing difficulties because the infrastructure is not ready in quality.
In this era of digital technology, industry movements are now very difficult and unpredictable from year to year.
Look at how any industry is now competing to apply artificial intelligence. During the Covid-19 pandemic, only 20 percent could survive. This is because of the lack of digital literacy owned by SMEs. Indonesia needs 9 million digital workers.
Similarly, MTU University continues to make changes from the form of a high school to a university. From one campus to two campuses and so on. MTU University tries to be creative to keep up with the times.
