Improve the Ability of Lecturers in Writing Scientific Works, LPPM MTU University Holds Workshop “Book Review And Journal Article For Publication”

The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Mahkota Tricom Unggul University (MTU) held a writing and publication of scientific papers for all MTU University lecturers at the MTU Campus Tower 3 Grand Jati Junction Building, Thursday (7/3).

The Head of LPPM MTU University, Miftahul Jannah, S.T., M.Kom explained that the workshop with the theme “Book Review And Journal Article For Publication” was held specifically for all lecturers at MTU University. The goal is that MTU University lecturers are more motivated and can improve their ability to write and publish scientific papers.

“One of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education is research. Therefore, every lecturer must conduct research and publish the scientific work,” said Jannah.

He explained that this workshop presented two speakers, Dr. Anna Riana Suryani Tambunan, S.S., M.Hum, who discussed how to review a journal, summarize and identify the strengths and weaknesses in the reviewed journal. She also introduced the types of journals.

While the second reader Sunday Ade Sitorus, M.Si explained government regulations in journal writing. Publication targets, classification of scientific periodicals. Characteristics of national scientific periodicals, characteristics of international scientific periodicals.

In writing scientific papers, sources of ideas can be obtained through seminars and discussions, current events or occurrences, browsing the internet, experiences and observations.

A scientific paper accepted by the journal must meet the specified format and requirements, must be designed systematically and coherently, the core part of the writing is the introduction, literature review, writing methods, analysis and synthesis must be balanced.

Separately, the Rector of MTU University, Dr. Dompak Pasaribu, SE, M.Si, CPA, CACP welcomed the activities carried out by LPPM MTU University.

According to him, this activity will be able to further improve the ability of lecturers to produce better quality scientific work, so that it will not only benefit MTU University, but also the wider community.

Lecturers' duties are not only to conduct learning activities but also to carry out research and community service.
