A total of 80 students of State Vocational High School 1 Medan conducted a campus tour to Mahkota Tricom Unggul University (MTU) located at Grand Jati Junction Building 25th Floor Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan No. 3A Medan, Thursday (18/4).

Accompanied by Vice Principal Jenri Hamonangan Saragih, S.Pd and teacher Yahyakan Andry Yunus, S.Pd, students of SMKN 1 Medan were immediately welcomed by the Rector of MTU University, Dr. Dompak Pasaribu, SE, M.Si, CPA, CACP, Vice Rector Yenni SE, MM and the academic community of MTU University with great intimacy.

The Rector of MTU University, Dr. Dompak Pasaribu, SE, M.Si, CPA, CACP in his remarks said that MTU University has 6 study programs namely Digital Business, Management, Agribusiness, Information Technology, Information Systems and Accounting.

He said MTU University provides opportunities for students to do internships at various partner companies. In the same building on the 25th floor there is also the office of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) North Sumatra. Of course this has a positive impact on MTU University students in the world of work. In addition, the management of the MTU University foundation is the owner of the company PT Mahkota Group Tbk so that every year students get the opportunity to intern and work at the company.

“There have been many MTU University students who have the opportunity to intern at the company and MTU University students with the best graduates have the opportunity to work at PT Mahkota Group Tbk,” said Dompak.

Internship opportunities to various companies are carried out by MTU University to bring students closer to the industrial world, so that after completing lectures MTU students are able to work according to company needs.

In addition, he added, MTU University also provides opportunities for underprivileged students to continue studying by finding foster parents, providing tuition discounts and scholarships from the government. In addition, tuition payments can be paid in installments every month, so that it is not burdensome.

”MTU University and SMKN 1 Medan will soon conduct an internship MoU so that SMKN 1 Medan students can do internships at MTU University,” explained Dompak.

After receiving a briefing from the Rector of MTU University, SMKN 1 Medan students had the opportunity to directly see the facilities owned and ask questions about the study program which was explained directly by the head of the study program.

Deputy Head of SMKN 1 Medan Jenri Hamonangan Saragih, S.Pd who accompanied the campus tour to MTU University admitted that he was very happy to be able to conduct a campus tour to MTU University. He said that with this activity students had the opportunity to see firsthand the facilities and study programs owned by MTU University.
