Mahkota Tricom Unggul University (MTU) held a Talkshow with the theme “The Future of Education and Entertainment: How XR and The Metaverse Will Change How We Play”, at MTU University Campus, 24th Floor Jati Junction Building No. 3A Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan No.3A Medan, recently. The talk show attended by more than 200 students from various high schools in Medan featured speakers Senior Professional Officer Singapore Institute of Technology Mr. Budianto Tandianus, PhD, Guest Speaker Honorary Consul of Thailand for North Sumatra, Riau and Riau Islands Dr. Ir. Martono Anggusti, SH, MM, M.Hum, Guest Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Singapore Dr. Edmund Chia Keng Wei, guided by moderator from Professional practitioners IT National University of Singapore Yosin Anggusti, Bsc (ISM), M.Tch.

Senior Professional Officer Singapore Institute of Technology Mr. Budianto Tandianus, PhD explained Extended Reality (XR) opens the door to a new world full of potential and innovation. With rapidly growing applications in various fields, XR not only changes the way we interact with technology, but also has a positive impact in education, health, industry and entertainment. Meanwhile, the metaverse is the gateway to future digital conveniences. For example, ChatGPT is widely used, especially in education to create journals, scientific papers and so on.

“The Singapore Institute of Technology allows the use of ChatGPT,” he said.

According to him, the use of ChatGPT is inevitable. It's just that he remembers that the use of ChatGPT cannot be done 100 percent. What ChatGPT does is generalized, so changes must be made.

The Honorary Consul of Thailand for North Sumatra, Riau and Riau Islands Dr. Ir. Martono Anggusti, SH, MM, M.Hum explained that technology continues to develop and its presence greatly helps people in completing work. Therefore, mastery of technology is very important in achieving success.

Consul General of the Republic of Singapore Dr. Edmund Chia Keng Wei mentioned that technology education in Singapore has developed. The Singapore government strongly supports technology education so that many technology institutes have sprung up and become a reference for students around the world to come to study.

MTU University is a technology and business-based university. MTU has 6 study programs, of which 4 technology-based study programs namely Digital Business Study Program, Information Technology, Information Systems, Agribusiness, besides there are Management and Accounting Study Programs.
