MTU UNIVERSITY MOU HEAD OF SME COOPERATIVES OFFICE OF NORTH SUMATRA AND MTU STUDENTS HAVE A ROLE IN DEVELOPING COOPERATIVES

Why a cooperative? With cooperatives we can work together to provide capital, skills, infrastructure, networks and other resources needed by businesses. Cooperatives are owned by members. The more members you have, the greater the opportunity to get resources.

This was conveyed by the Head of the North Sumatra Province Cooperative and SME Service Dr. Naslindo Sirait, SE, MM when giving a public lecture as well as signing the MoU at Mahkota Tricom Unggul University (MTU) at the Grand Jati Juanction Building Lt.25 Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan No. 3A Medan, Friday (12/7).

He revealed, cooperatives are currently transforming with the entry of the digital era. Cooperative products are no longer marketed conventionally but have used digital tools such as e-commerce, social media.

The Office of Cooperatives and SMEs of North Sumatra Province, he said, has priority programs, namely the Business Incubator, which is an entrepreneurship development program to create excellent entrepreneurs through training, assistance, mentoring, financing facilities, work facilities, business facilities and promotion and marketing.

Accounting labotarium to produce vocationers who are skilled in making financial reports in the business world. Cooperative and SME internships support two directions that form skilled vocationers in the business world and assist businesses in finding workers. Gen-Z cooperatives to accelerate the role of young people, especially Gen-Z, to help cooperatives.

Chairman of the Mahkota Tricom Education Foundation Dr. Ir. Martono Anggusti, SH, MM, M.Hum said to be creative and innovative students and graduates. Don't be afraid to start small.

“The foundation will continue to support steps to develop the entrepreneurial and cooperative spirit. The most important thing is to start from the mentality, the mindset of an entrepreneur (entrepreneur), don't start yet,” said Martono.

While the Rector of Mahkota Tricom Unggul University (MTU), Dr. Dompak Pasaribu, SE, M.Si, CPA, CACP in his remarks said that he was very pleased to be able to collaborate with the North Sumatra Province Cooperative and UKM Office. With the signing of the MoU, both parties can work together in conducting research and community service activities, especially in improving cooperatives and SMEs in North Sumatra Province.

The study programs at MTU University are business and technology based. Business-based are Management and Accounting and Agribusiness while technology-based are Information Technology and Information Systems. For the combination of business and technology, MTU University has a Digital Business Study Program which is not yet widely owned by universities in North Sumatra.

“MTU University is ready to collaborate with the Office of Cooperatives and SMEs of North Sumatra Province so that SMEs in North Sumatra can develop more,” said Dompak Pasaribu.

At the end of the public lecture and MoU signing, the Chairperson of the Mahkota Tricom Education Foundation Dr. Ir. Martono Anggusti, SH, MM, M.Hum invited the Head of the North Sumatra Province Cooperative and SME Service Dr. Naslindo Sirait, SE, MM to review campus facilities. He appreciated the facilities and the Foundation's commitment to developing higher education that applies links and matches.
