APINDOSU UMKM MERDEKA CONDUCTS MONTHLY REVIEW OF MSIB BATCH 7 PROGRAM AND CAMPUS TOUR AT MTU UNIVERSITY

Vice Rector of Mahkota Tricom Unggul University (MTU), Nurjafa Liaufaldi SS, MBA, MSc, M.Hum together with the Committee of the Certified Independent Study and Internship Program (MSIB) Tjoe Mun Tong listened to the Monthly Review report of the MSIB Batch 7 Program of one of the participants implemented by APINDOSU UMKM Merdeka at MTU University.

A total of seven groups of participants from various university students in North Sumatra submitted reports in front of mentors at the Certified Independent Study and Internship Program (MSIB) conducted by the Indonesian Employers Association of North Sumatra (APINDOSU) at Mahkota Tricom Unggul University (MTU) Grand Jati Junction 25th Floor Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan No.3A Medan, Saturday, October 26, 2024.

The seven groups conducted internships at Seblak Madit, Dapoer Niswah Jamu, CV Kotama Shoes, Nakama Brew, Sabina Collection, Nasi Gerilya and Tamita Takengon.

“Every month the participants will provide a report on the results of the internship in MSMEs,” said Tjoe Mun Tong, the committee of the Certified Independent Study (MSIB) Internship Program implemented by APINDOSU.

Mun Tong explained that this activity is a program of the Ministry of Education implemented by APINDOSU to provide opportunities for students to do internships in MSMEs as well as support Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka. Each group consists of students from various majors and several universities. This is done so that students can work together even though they have different universities and majors with the aim of broadening their horizons and knowledge as well as networking or net working.

From the results of the report that is carried out every month, an assessment will be made and at the same time get direction from the tentor so that students have the ability to entrepreneurship.

“We hope that students who take part in the internship have the ability to become entrepreneurs and after completing their undergraduate education, they can become reliable entrepreneurs,” he explained.

Thus, it is hoped that the MSIB program will continue and grow like the independent entrepreneur program from the Ministry of Education.

While the Vice Rector of Mahkota Tricom Unggul University (MTU), Nurjafa Liaufaldi SS, MBA, MSc, M.Hum who gave his remarks in English explained that MTU University has two faculties and six study programs. The Faculty of Science and Technology has Agribusiness, Information Technology, and Information Systems study programs. The Faculty of Social Sciences has Digital Business, Management and Accounting programs.

Nurjafa said, MTU University also opens international classes that use English as the language of instruction.

According to him, English is a language that is widely used by various countries. Because of this, mastery of English is essential for a university graduate. Without a good command of English, it will be difficult to develop net working to various countries.

“I am one of the lecturers,” he said.

In addition, he continued, MTU University also provides field work practices, internships, and creates students to become true entrepreneurs who are also backed up by APINDOSU and Mahkota Group Company, a company that has been listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.​

Nurjafa said the MSIB Program, which is a program of the Ministry of Education implemented by APINDOSU, will provide added value to students after completing their education at the University. Therefore, the knowledge gained during the internship at APINDOSU UMKM Merdeka can be developed. Net working obtained from the internship can be developed after completing the internship. One way to develop net working is to master the English language.
